Mapping New Brunswick Project
NBT and the Center for Urban Policy Research at
Rutgers University are collaborating on a “Mapping
Project” which uses geographic information system
technology to map all community programs on a New
Brunswick interactive map. To improve program
planning and utilization of resources, community
services providers will be able to access the map
through a website.
The first phase of the mapping project is near
completion, as data collected from providers of
youth, literacy and childcare services has been
coded and placed on a website. The second phase of
providing training and technical assistance to
community providers was scheduled to start in
January 2007.
Program Auditing Process
NBT has implemented a program auditing process, by
which the task force can monitor progress of
programs receiving fi nancial support from NBT.
Programs may be audited in January (midterm) and/or
in July (year-end). NBT staff pilot-tested the
auditing process in March 2006 with four programs:
Family Friendly Center, School Based Youth Services
Program, Boaz’s Immigration Counseling and
Education, and Club You Belong. In January 2007, the
full cycle of audits will begin. |
