MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
As this report documents, the year 2006 was
another productive and successful one for
New Brunswick Tomorrow.
It was a year in which NBT programs already
in place continued to serve the people of
our community--and in which they were
complemented by new programs to address
needs like at-risk youth and access to
health care.
It was a year in which 25 participants
completed the Class of 2006 of Leadership
Tomorrow of the new John J. Heldrich
Institute for Leadership Development to join
the next generation of revitalization
leaders. It was the year that fifteen highly
committed Leadership Tomorrow graduates
prepared for Leadership Now to actively work
on solutions to community needs.

|
It was a year of a Community Assessment for
Healthier New Brunswick 2010 in which
residents said access to medical and dental
services is their greatest need.
And finally, it was the year in which the
Eagleton Poll of Rutgers University told us
that clear majorities of New Brunswick
residents support what we are trying to do
to improve their lives. It was welcome news
to us and our revitalization partners, Mayor
Jim Cahill, the New Brunswick Development
Corporation (DevCo), and the New Brunswick
Cultural Center.

However, as I stated when the poll results
were announced:“The challenges continue and
our work must go on.”
